How to Purchase Films

Order Online
Purchase on the NCJF website www.jewishfilm.org via credit card or paypal via our secure shopping cart. If you do not see a “Buy Now” button, the film may still be available for purchase. Call or email to inquire.

Orders by Phone
Using a Visa or MasterCard, call (781) 736-8600 or (781) 899-7044 Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM EST.

Shipping

Purchases are processed and shipped within 1 to 2 business days of ordering, often sooner. All prices are subject to change. A rush fee of $20 will apply to orders needed less than 2 weeks from receipt of order.

Within the United States

The following shipping & handling fees apply to shipping within the continental U.S.

"Economy shipping" is sent USPS Media Mail
$4.50 for first DVD; add $2 for each additional

"Priority shipping" is sent USPS Priority Mail
$8 for first DVD; add $2 for each additional

Outside the United States

The following shipping & handling fees apply to shipping outside of the U.S. Recipient is responsible for customs fees, taxes and duties.

Standard Service via USPS (approximately 2-3 weeks delivery)
Canada and Mexico: $12 first DVD; add $2 for each additional
All Other Countries: $17 first DVD; add $2 for each additional

FedEx Express (approximately 1 week delivery).

DVD for Home Use


Home use DVDs are for personal home only. Home use DVDs cannot be used for educational, classroom, or library use. It is strictly prohibited to screen, loan or broadcast to any group. See our Home Video License Agreement (PDF)

 

DVD for Classroom/Library Educational Use

Institutions are required to purchase DVDs at the educational price for any and all classroom or library use. Purchasing a DVD/ Blu-ray for Educational Use (Library/Classroom) does not grant public performance rights. To screen a film outside of the classroom, even when no admission fee is charged, you must contact NCJF to obtain a public performance license. A screening fee will likely apply. Ordering: Educational use purchase is available with a credit card or paypal online via our website, or by calling our office. If your institutions needs to be invoiced, we require a purchase order on your NCJF Order Form (PDF).

Our Federal EIN number and/or a W-9 form will be provided upon request.

 

Digital Site Licensing (DSL) for Educational Use

Many NCJF films are available for Digital Site License (DSL) purchase. DSL allows allow colleges, universities or libraries to locally host and stream to their community on a closed, password protected system. Public performance of any kind is prohibited.

Contact us to find out if DSL is available for specific NCJF films.

 

Copyright Warning

Federal law provides severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorized reproduction, distribution or exhibition of copyrighted motion picture DVDs. Uploading to a server, host, or video-hosting website is also strictly prohibited.

 

Public Performance

To Arrange a Film Screening
Send your request via email to Lisa Rivo at lisarivo(at)brandeis(dot)edu. Include the following information:

• Screening Date(s):
• Screening Location & Seating Capacity:
• Preferred Format (35mm, 16mm, DCP, Beta, Blu-ray, DVD, Other):
• Booking Contact – Name, Job Title, Street Address, Phone & Email:

Prices for public exhibition in theatres, museums, schools, and cultural institutions are based on the film and the size and type of your screening. Rental fees include one-time public performance rights for the date(s) specified. Dates are not changeable without specific permission from NCJF. Rental orders must be placed at least 3 weeks before the show date or rush charges may apply.

Returning Film Materials
Film materials in all formats must be returned to NCJF the next business day after screening. A late return fee will apply to materials not returned in a timely manner.

DCP, 16mm, 35mm, HDcam, Beta, and ProRes must be shipped via UPS, FedEx, or other courier service. Print traffic of these formats must be insured for $500. Failure to do so makes you liable for full replacement costs in case of loss during transit. Retain insurance receipt for your records.

In the event of any damage to screening materials, including damage due to poor packaging and shipping, licensee is completely responsible and will be charged for the full replacement cost of the item.

35mm & 16mm Film Rental Requests
The rental of 35mm and 16mm prints is limited to venues with experience handling and projecting archival prints. Not all requests for film prints will be granted. It is essential to have a well-running projector, a clean projector gate and an experienced projectionist to show the film. The use of platter systems is not allowed. Additional fees will apply if film ends are not taped down.
